To the Little Susitna River

From Anchorage, travel Alaska 1 for about 30 miles to the Parks Hwy
Follow the Parks Hwy into Wasilla
Turn Left at the Palmer Wasilla Hwy (second stop light on the Parks Hwy, across from Target)
Go to your 2nd stop light and turn Left at Knik Goose Bay RD
Travel about 16 miles to mile marker 17.2 and turn Right at Point Mackenzie Rd
Travel 7 miles to the T (stop sign) and take a Right
The road makes a sharp left then go 3 miles and veer right on Little Su Access Road where it turns into a dirt road.
From there go 2 miles and the road ends at the state park.

There is a $7.00 parking fee

​Directions to Deshka River

Estimated Driving Time: Factor 90 minutes drive time from Anchorage and 45 Minutes
drive time from Wasilla 

Driving to Deshka Landing from th Anchorage Airport.
Take International Airport Rd. to the North bound Minnesota exit.
Follow Minnesota into down town which turns into "I" street. Go all the way to 6th
Ave.
Turn right on 6th Ave., which is a one-way street. 6th Ave. turns into the Glenn Hwy
heading north to Wasilla.
Follow the Glenn Hwy north about 30 miles to the Parks Hwy intersection and
follow the signs left into Wasilla, you are now on the Parks Hwy. (Hwy 3)
Continue north through Wasilla staying on the Parks Hwy approximately 35
minutes.
You will enter the town of Willow.
Look for a big sign that says Willow Creek Recreational Area and Deshka Landing
(around mile 70.5)
Turn left on to Willow Creek Parkway.
Go 1.9 Miles to Crystal Lake Road and turn left (You will see a big sign that says
Deshka Landing)
Go 2.3 miles and turn right on Mishap Road - stay on the pavement. (You will see a
Deshka Landing sign on right)
Go approx 4.8 miles and until the road dead ends into the Deshka Landing.

You will have to pay at the gate then park and walk down the road to the boat launch.  I will be there waiting for you.
